Trouble, Temperatures, and Tree Town

[Korkoa]

OOC: Yeah, Talmarka should decide.

IC: Korkoa grunted in surprise as the baby hugged his foot. No one had hugged him since he was a hatchling. It felt pretty good.

[Talmarka]

ooc: What if he had to watch over Marsi (babysit ) and Cielo and Korkoa became friends?

Cielo sighed. he reached down and held Marsi close to his chest. He had held infants before (just not with tails or crests). There was a time when he had to carry his sister. This almost made Talmarka want to cry, but he quickly wiped his eyes with his shoulder. "Well," he said after a few minutes. "I gotta put you you down, so I can get a new assignment. VEDA-LI!"
Before curfew Talmarka came back red-faced. He told Korkoa what he had to do. "Starting tomorrow, I gonna have to babysit Marsi."

[Korkoa]

OOC: Sounds good.

IC: "Mind if I help? I don't think I'll be welcome back in the Basin for a while." Korkoa looked at Marsis' mother. "That is, if you don't mind, ma'am."

[Talmarka]

The hadrosaur gave a low honk of approval, the tone almost sounded like a sigh. Cielo couldn't blame her, if he was in her situation, he'd wonder if it was the best thing for a predator to babysit a possible lunch. "Well, I'm wiped out," Talmarka said yawning. Let's get some sleep.
Talmarka had a pretty restless night(he still wasn't all use to living in a basket fifty feet of the ground), but that didn't compare to the morning. When Cielo opened his eyes, he saw a infant hadrosaur on top of him, starring right back at Talmarka.

[Korkoa]

Korkoa heard a grunt from the basket next to him, and awoke with a start. "Wha?! Who? ... Oh, hi Ceilo, sorry about that. Hey Marsi, what's up?" Korkoa turned his attention back to Ceilo. "So, what needs to be done today? I can babysit Marsi, run errands, whatever. But afterwards, can we check out that nest you told about?"

[Tiasalle and Braveheart]

Marsi giggled on Cielio's tummy and honked rather loudly at Korkoa. She was beginning to enjoy their company. She got up and waddled away, muttering to herself as she climbed to the edge of the tree and went into the trunk to look for some breakfast.

[Talmarka]

Talmarka sighed. Then he began his morning routine by grabbing a lunch box, a backpack, and a harness. To the raptor's surprise, Ceilo cut the rope holding the sleeping basket causing it to plummet down to the base of the tree. Luckily, it stopped several inches before impact and as soon as he stepped out the basket slowly winded back up to the branches. Knowing how often people and saurians were confounded by this, Ceilo pointed to the pulley system on the branch.
"If you need me, I'll be at the Lake," Talmarka called up. "And make sure 'she' knows where I am too."

[Korkoa]

"Um... okay. Hey Marsi! Come here!" After Marsi climbed into the basket next to Korkoa, he cut the rope, sending them plumeting towards the ground. "It's okay Marsi. Just hold on." After they stopped, Korkoa grabbed Marsi, and jumped out of the basket. "Ceilo! Wait, can you tell me where that nest is?"

[Tiasalle and Braveheart]

Marsi squealed in delight as she dropped to the ground and was a little disappointed when the ride ended. She clambered out of the basket and sat in the dirt, drawing little pictures in the soft earth that were supposed to be her, Korkoa and Celio, but actually looked like sticks and rocks put into place by an inexperienced artist

[Talmarka]

"I'm going there now," Talmarka replied while scribbling down notes on his notepad. 'Suspend time on ground,' he wrote down in plain English. "What do think of my 'convenience' system? I've installed it in several baskets, all in my spare time-what the heck?" he said looking down at Marsi. Cielo was always being astonished by saurians, but he never observed this type of behavior. "Tell me, where did you learn to do that?"

[Korkoa]

Korkoa looked down at Marsi. "Wow!" He exclaimed, "How old are you again? 'Cause that's really good!"

[Tiasalle and Braveheart]

Marsi giggled. The human children she had been playing with had certainly helped her in her artwork. She looked up at Korkoa and raised two "fingers" in response to how old she was. Proud of herself, Marsi stood and toddled to her friends, although she was uncertain who she was going to spend the day with, since it was fairly obvious that Korkoa and Cielio were going separate directions. Lifting her large, confused blue eyes, Marsi watched for some kind of signal as to where she was going.

[Korkoa]

Korkoa interprated that look as "who am I going to be with?" and pointed at Ceilo. "You probably wouldn't want to see what I'm doing today. It's, uh... raptor stuff."

[Talmarka]

"Right," Cielo said, knowing what Korkoa meant. "So you'll be coming with me while he finishes his 'raptor' stuff, so we'll a meet up later."
While say goodbye, Talmarka handed him a folded up note that said "Thrinaxodon Liorhinus (For Your Eyes ONLY!)". On the inside was directions to the cynodont borrows. He had spent months trying to find out where they lived long before he had met the raptor, and a few days without sleep and several written simulations gave Cielo the near-exact location of the cynodonts. Finally his excuse for practicing Dinotopian had paid off (Aremenore had told him once he should learn to write it, and he knew that would be the perfect chance to get rid of those giant rats.)!
"That should give you something to do after your 'Raptor' Stuff", Talmarka couldn't help giggling a bit.

[Korkoa]

"Thanks Ceilo! I'll be back soon to pick up Marsi. Uh, if you want me to, that is." Korkoa ran swiftly through the forest, using his nose when the direction didn't tell enough. Finnaly, he came to the nests. Looking around to make sure no one was witness to the sure-to-be gruesome sight, he dove into the burrows.


A few minutes later, he emerged, red stains around his mouth. He washed off in the nearby stream, and slowly walked back to where he last saw Ceilo...

[Talmarka]

Talmarka, however, wasn't there he was actually just a few miles from the burrows, and Marsi did not enjoy the long walk. While collecting specimens, she took a nap. Cielo knew when Marsi woke up, she'd be off the wall, and finished a fast as he could.

[Korkoa]

Korkoa, using his highly trained nose, followed Ceilos scent to the spot he was. 'Hey Ceilo, thanks for showing me those burrows. If you need any help with anything, just ask me, I'll be happy to help."

[Tiasalle and Braveheart]

Marsi slept soundly but, unfortunately, had a terrible dream about the gigantosaurus they had seen in their short trip to the Basin, and the little hadrosaur woke up crying. Shuddering from the memory of the bully, Marsi held onto Cielio's shirt in a death-grip and sobbed quietly, trying to shake the memory from her head.

[Korkoa]

"Marsi, what's wrong? Bad dream? It's just a dream, don't worry."

[Talmarka]

"Oh my God, are you okay?" Cielo sounded almost in shock and confusion, but this was not enough to contain his curiosity. He stated to jot jot down notes, but then he looked at Marsi. Animals had been known to mix and confuse reality, but she was balling like she lost everything. Just like he had felt. Talmarka wanted to cry. She held her tight. "It's going to be okay. That won't happen again, I promise you."
