The Styracosaurus groaned in agony while it lay on its side. "I'm almost done okay?" said Talmarka. All he wanted to was help the poor creature, but it couldn't do anything if he can't concentrate! "Cielo Talmarka, you must remember that there is a timid creature underneath all that strength." "I understand, Armenore, though it's hard to help without concentration!" "I understand how you feel, because I've been there as-well." "Really?" "Of course. When I was a hatchling, hunting dragonflies was how I found my lunch. That buzzing was a major nuisance, but after concentrating on my task and that only , I jumped, and I had my prize!" Cielo sighed, and tried. He soon got past the moans, and finished patching up the saurian in the distress. The dinosaur stood up, examined its new bandages, and left the barn. "Well done, Talmarka, another successful task!" exclaimed Armenore. "You know, Armenore, you pretty inspiring, for a Struthiomimus." "Doctor," corrected Armenore.

For the rest of the day, Cielo did his daily tasks. Helping Armenore gather herbs, checking the stegosaurs for parasites, and (his least favorite of all) helping load the Copro Carts. Just as soon he was climbing into his sleeping basket, he heard a shout that sounded something like "Cielo Talmarka, we require your assistance!" Talmarka sighed. "What Know?" he grumbled while climbing down the matrix of ladders. It had to be at least 10 o'clock in the way he used to measure time. But that didn't stop him. It was part of his training, and he was the only one who new the latest Outer World Veterinary Techniques. When he reached the barn though, he was surprised to see Armenore and the other caretakers without their equipment. "Is there a problem?" Talmarka asked. "Yes, well you see there is a problem, and we want you to take care of it," said Amenore. "But this one is more challenging then you think." A Caretaker pulled out a small bundle, but in the bundle, was a baby hadrosaur. ''''''''''''''' The infant saurian was hardly awake. Where was she? What's going on? Why where people yelling at each other? Where was her mother? She didn't know, but what the hatchling did know is that she was wrapped in something warm, so she dozed offed and slept. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Feel free to use any character in the post, but PLEASE nothing rash !

ooc: sounds like fun! I'll be Amenore, if that's ok.........
"We found her at our doorstep." Amenore said. "She was in a basket. No referance to a name or identity, no 'take care of her' note, no indication of where she came from, nothing. Just a breif knock on the door and here she is." He gnetly stroked her neck with his claw. "The town hatchery is full. They have no room. Would you care to watch over this hathcling? At least until we find out who she is and where she came from."

ooc: Fine by me, I'll just be Cielo Talmarka then ! "Is he joking?" thought Cielo who was staring at the saurians. Fixing up a creature is one thing, but playing parent? What would he do? Better yet, what COULD he do? Deny Aremenore, his tutor, his mentor, his idol? Talmarka had seen his father rehabilitate animals back in Montana, so he might have an edge. But how could he keep up with his tasks while this hadrosaur was with him? Still, what harm could be done just trying for a while? "Fine," Talmarka said reluctantly."But can we about this first?"

Amenore tilted his head. "What is there to talk about?" he said calmly. "Your task is to feed her, make sure she sleeps well at night and make sure she is healthy. And that she is amused of course......" he broke off for a second. "By amused i mean she gets some attention now and then. Or are you worried about balancing this task with your others? What terms have you in mind?

''I'm talking about the fact that you expect me to take care of a young saurian, feed it, care for it, and then complete God knows else what you'll expect me to do!" exclaimed Cielo. "You expecting way to much from me, but what would the point of this if it was easy, so I'll do it but don't be surprised if I screw up." With that Talmarka took the the tiny hadrosur and cradled it in his arms. "So, Armenore, could just check on me every once in a while, make sure everything's okay? That'd really be nice of you."

Armenore would have smiled then, but his facial structure didn't allow that. The hint of the smile showed in his eyes as he nodded. "Of course. I'll check your progress in the morning. I'll have some food for her brought to your basket. We'll hang a basket her size right next to yours so you aren't cramped tonight, but she'll be close by if she needs anything. I will be in the library researching the town census in an attempt to find the parents of this young-one. Good night." He stroked the baby on the neck one more time and then strided to the town's library.

"Well, I guess we should go on home now," Cielo said to the hacthling. He took the small hadrosaur to to his own sleeping basket, where Armenore said another sleeping basket had been placed for it. After tucking the saurian in, he went to bed. "Armenore, what were you thinking?" Talmarka thought before he fell to sleep.
Dawn. Cielo Talmarka hadn't slept much, and he wasn't about to get any either. The basket next to him was empty! What happened to the hactling? Then, it came to him. Being better than average at logic, Cielo played the scene in his mind. Considering there was jar wide open, the hadrosaur must have knocked over a loose jar (that's bad), eaten the contents (that's worse), and had a sudden burst of energy and ran off somewhere in an attempt to burn it off (that's the worst), and those contents were none other than energisium underfondus, a plant unknown to western biology, and used to cure extreme tiredness, and a nibble of that will make you run like your on fire! He had to do something. If what thought of was correct, it was going to be one morning. Talmarka had to find the hatchling, but he'd need Armenore's help too. If he found the hadrosaur on his own though, the old saurian might not kill him. As he was thinking this who else would come across his path than the hacthling, running like crazy. There was something else though, Cielo heard voices from around the corner, and they sounded urgent.

Armenore checked round the corner. There was no one within earshot to hear. "Are you sure about this?" he asked Darva. He was afraid, greatly afraid at what he had just heard. His green face was becoming paler by the minute.
"Quite," Darva replied. He was a green Protoceratops, two yellow eyes bulging from his crest. "We spotted her dashing towards the rainy basin just moments ago, my she seemed to have gotten into the sweets she was so quick. Haven't the slightest idea how she got out of the tree if she was here all night like you said, but however it happened, slow as i am compaired to a hyper-active baby hadorsaur, i could not stop her and she dissapeared into the bush. My partner Trisha is organizing a rescue party as of now, but it will be at least an hour before we're properly equipped to proceed."
Armenore shook his head. "Blast, this cannot be happening! I thought Cielo would be able to handle the responsibility............ thank you for bringing this to my attention, Darva. Continue your efforts and let me know when you leave. I meanwhile shall have a word with the hatchling's caretaker............." He nodded his head in acknowledgement and then started around the corner. "Now where is Cielo?"

What the two saurians didn't know was that Cielo was listening to the whole conversation. "Oh man, this is insane, if he finds me I'm screwed, and if I help the party it's the same!" he thought while running through the tree line, trying to piece together a plan, and then it hit him: Perinice! When he was at the Pteranodon Hatchery outside of Pteros, he had met a Skybax rider who often did missions scouting for canorsaurs in the Rainy Basin. Some one like her could solve his problem. Her raced to the post building and gave this message: "To Perinice: Need help with lost hatchling. Went toward Rainy Basin outside of Tree Town. Come quickly. Don't Tell anyone unless they'll help. Cielo." The Dimorphodon flew as fast as it could and heeded southeast. Everything seemed flawless until he heard his name being called. Aremenore was just below. Crap.

"Cielo? I say Cielo! Come here!" The old Struthy was getting frustrated. "Blast it all, boy where are you? I've got a very important topic to cover with you, Mr." I'm growning tired of this......... "I know what you're thinking. You think i'm going to kill you. When will you learn that Dinotopians do not kill people who have made mistakes like they do in Montana? Just come ou................."
RRRROOOOAAARRRR!!!
The ground below rumbled madly and suddenly an adult Hadrosaur came charging out of the bush. Roaring and honking loudly, she lumbered down the street below and nearly ran over a crowd of teenagers. She crashed through carts and baskets of fruit, but nothing stopped her. "Marsi! Marsi!" she called out to the town.
Amenore nearly fell off the platform from the shock of the ruckus. "What in the name of? Someone stop that Hadrosaur!" He quickly dashed off, forgetting about Cielo for the moment.

Talmarka witnessed the whole charade up in the tree, the entire the shook from the roar and the hadrosaur going berserk. What did he ever do to deserve any of this? He'd always wanted an animal career, but how would he have known that it be working with bus-sized talking lizards? Sure he loved paleontology, but this was "Jurassic Park" where the dinosaurs help run everything! But there was nothing that could change that. He was here whether Cielo liked it or not, and he had to help in anyway he could. "Hey, Aremenore, wait up! I'm on my way!" he yelled at the top of his voice. Cielo Talmarka was ready for the bizarreness ahead.

I watched silently from the brush. Apparently a baby Hadrosaur had been found, and now an adult one was screaming for a "Marsi". Well, might as well try to find the baby. She wouldn't last long in the Basin. Making very little noise, I turned around, and sliiped away.

ooc: been a while since there's been a post here
It was like running through saw grass. Cielo couldn't see anything inches in front of him. He needed help, where could he get it? Then he heard something behind him maybe it was help. Or maybe....

OOC: Wow, didn't notice the date of the last post... that's why no one posted.
IC: There was a Human in the brush up ahead. If only I could find an excuse to attack it. "I can't kill helpless prey." I thought, "If it has a weapon, I can attack it. And eat something for the first time in days." I decided to scare the Human into revealing a weapon. Then I could fill my stomach for a few more days. I made my way around to the front of the Human. When he stumbled onto my hiding spot, I pounced!

There was a loud screech in front of Cielo. He recognized the noise, and it wasn't any good. Talmarka knew what to do but before he the chance a raptor jumped clear out of the fronds toward him. Luckily, he had move to the right just enough so when passed by Cielo grabbed its neck and wrestled it to the ground. "What are you doing?!" He yelled at the raptor, angry for its action nearly killing him.

"Yeah, well, don't be. Just be sorry that your jeopardizing the life of a young hadrosaur and that some of your vertebrae will be sore for a few days. So good day to you!" shouted Cielo, and partly threatening the raptor. He had a job to do, and he couldn't let this set him back.

When Talmarka looked in the raptors eyes, he saw its hunger. If he didn't find a meal to satisfy it, he could be in a stomach. Luckily, he knew about the diets of carnivores. "Tell you what, I've been havin' problems with some Trinaxodan stealing my serums and herbs. You might as well have them, I've got no other option. There's twelve in a den only I know where. Your's for the taking."
