Messo effortlessly glided through the sky. It was an excellent day for flying. The giant Skybax asended and dipped through the canyons in joy. He was in a very good mood today.
Suddenly, something glimmered in the distance. Curious, Messo flew to the object. As he came closer, he saw that it was as large as he was. It was silver, disc shaped, and had a sunstone lodged in a three-pronged metalic object.
Curious. Messo increased his speed to get closer, intruiged by this.....whatever it was. He had never seen anything like it.
Suddenly, the flying metal thing fired yellow shock-pulses at him. Messo screeched in terror and ducked from the blast. He flew a circle upward and changed his direction as the thing fired again.
Messo flew as fast as he could, but the thing kept gaining on him. He executed every evasive manuver he knew, weaving in and out of rocks, spinning in midair, circling around, there was no loosing it.
Desperate, he flew toward Canyon city, screeching for help. Meanwhile, the metalic object kept mindlessly firing shock-pulses at him, the green sunstone glowing and crackling in energy.

From Canyon city, Mark noticed the skybax first. It was coming in at an alarming speed; something must have scared it.
Then Mark saw what it was, a large silver disc appeared. firing at poor skybax.
A blast missed the skybax by an inch and came flying into one of the buildings near Mark. Immediately the building was engulfed in flames.
The skybax will have to fend for itself, Canyon city is in danger. Mark thought as he ran to get more help.

IC: Rex stood on the edge of the Canyon trying to get the Skybax to fly towads him so he can jump on the object and take it down to study it

ooc: This sounds like fun! Tell me if I need to know about a plot or if this one's just improve as well...
Arithia and Blazetail had just entered Canyon City for a meeting with Captain Oolu when out of nowhere a loud, panicked screech filled the air. Blazetail looked up just in time to see a male skybax heading towards them with some kind of disc-shaped terror chasing it! Arithia was distractedly unloading her supplies, having come through the Basin to get here from Tree Town when her Afrovenator partner swung her infamous tail, knocking the skybax out of the strange disc's path. It was too close up to turn very sharply, but Blazetail knew better than to underestimate an enemy. Arithia stood, stunned, at the Skybax that had seemingly come out of nowhere that now lay at her feet, a little dazed. Worried, Arithia forgot all warnings about touching a Skybax unless you were a Rider and reached down to help the distressed avian.

Mark watched as the strange disc shaped object seemed to forget about the skybax, and come straight for him!
It was no longer the skybax that needed help, he needed help. The silver disc sent our several blasts in Mark's direction, barely missing him. The blasts did hit the building behind him, though, send the building up in flames and smoke.
This is crazy. I just went outside this morning to get a breath of fresh air and to look at canyon, now I'm running for my life! Mark thought frantically.
The disc kept on its same course heading straight for Mark.

ooc: My this topic has exploded......sweet!
Messo swings through the air, dazed for a moment. When he regains his balance in the air he notices the object heading towards a human boy, madly firing shock pulses.
"Oh no!" he squawked. He knew that thing was trouble but he had to help. He flew towards that thing at maximum speed, hoping to cathc up with it. His plan was to attack and possibly scare it off.........
A utah raptor suddenly leaps from a clif and lands on the object. The sunstone glowes brighter and it struggles to stay aloft. It starts to swing in random directions, trying to throw the dinosaur off and into the canyon.......
Messo is startled by the raptor's sudden attack, but it ment he had help! "Hang on!" he shouted and continued on his course toward it. When he gets close to it, he grabbs it with his wings and legs and attempts to peck at it, but this does nothing.
The object whines mechanically and swings harder. Messo is thrown off and barley dodges a cliff on his decent........

Rex walks up to the disc like thing that trying to escape the dino " stand back" he barked as he place his right foot on the thing and drew a hand gun the was hidden under his vest and fires three round into it makeing i stop movieing
he picked it studieing it "where did it come from Skybax Rider"

Arithia watched the scene in absolute amazement. She could not believe that so much had happened in so little time! She left her supplies where they were and got on to Blazetail's back. They trotted to the place where the odd disc had fallen. A boy was walking cautiously towards it while a Utahraptor was examining a Sunstone. The skybax Arithia had tried to help before landed next to her. Blazetail snorted in Skybax, "I'm sorry for hitting you, Flyer but there was not other way I could think of to help you. Arithia is the kind one, I'm just here for her protection" she smiled awkwardly, showing her sharp teeth.

Messo lands and shakes himself off. "That's ok, I appreciate it" he says to Blazetail. "As for you," he says to the Utahraptor "My name is Messo, and i have no rider. I am alone. I was flying by myself, by the sentinles now that i think about it, when that thing came charging at me for no apparant reason! What is it?" He took a few steps forward. "And what did you do to it? I believe that is what is known as a 'fire arm'." He squinted at the sunstone as it started to glow wso bright, the stone itself became invisible. It hummed very loud and began to send bolts of energy in random directions.
The drone shuttered and started to barley hover over the ground. Without warning, it shot off in the direction of hte sentinles and was a tiny dot on the horizon in a flash.

Mark watched as the strange disc shot away from the small group that had gathered. He longed to ask the skybax to ride, but he didn't know how to ask it. He jogged over to the group who were all still slightly stunned from the object's quick departure.
Mark breathed in a deep breath before asking, "Can I help?"

Messo shuddered as the thing flew off. "You're help would be most appreciated. That thing may have pulled to the sentinels, but it could easily fly off to Pteros or some other nearby town. Maybe even come back around here and scorch the cliffs!" he extended a wing, indicating Canyon City.
"I say we go after it. I could fly above and distract it, possibly engage it in midair. You...." he paused at the Utahraptor "What's you're name again? Your firearm would be very helpful. You two" he said to Blazetail and Arithia "could follow along the cliffs. That just leaves you........." he looked at the boy for a moment. He sensed that something important was on the boy's mind. "You seem kind of young........but i could give you a lift........i don't know about you, but i've been waiting for ages to be paired with a pilot. What's you're flight experiance?"

Mark could barely believe what he had heard, but he willed himself to believe it. All of his life he had dreamed of becoming a skybax rider. Now was his chance.
"Well sir, you see, I haven't actually flown before, but I've always wanted to. If it wouldn't be too much of a problem, I'd be more than willing to fly on your back. Would that be okay with you?"

Rex walks to the edge of the canyon and looks back all of them and waves and dives off, free falling for few sceconds before he pushes a button on his pack which wings pop out from alowing him to follow the disc like thing

Messo was so shocked at Rex's flight display and nearly had a heart attack. "What.......how.........huh?" he shook his head rapidly. "oooh, what am i talking about? You, boy, tell me your name. And i guess you should get on now." He turned his back to the boy and extended his wings. "I've never had anyone on my back before, so we'll have to teach each other how to properly fly.."
The disc fired it's shock-pulses somewhere in the distance, following a vert faint glow of flames

Arithia almost fainted when she saw wings pop out of Rex's back. That was entirely unexpected! Blazetail tapped her on her shoulder with her tail, "Come, we must go now if we are to follow"
"But what about my meeting with Oolu?" Arithia asked dazedly
"This is more important, go and explain that you will be unable to make your report today. I will gather our supplies"
Arithia nodded and ran to the Rookery, where she was supposed to meet with the Partner. Both Oolu and Lightwing were there, looking a little impatient, "This is not like you, Arry" said Oolu, concerned, "What happened?"
"I'm sorry, sir, but we have made a strange discovery and need to discover what it is and if it poses a threat to Dinotopia" Arithia explained
Lightwing nudged Oolu and said something in Skybax that Arithia did not catch although she was fairly fluent in the language, having dealt with skybaxes so many times in the Basin. "Very well, you may pursue this possible threat, you are not within my command, however, I do expect a report upon your return"
Arithia curtsied politely, "Thank you for excusing me, Captain, I hope to see you again soon"
With that, she exited the Rookery and jogged to Blazetail, who was already set to go. Leaping on her beloved partner's back, the duo set off after the odd disc, Blazetail keeping the scent of the skybax, boy, and strange human within her sensory boundaries.

he stopped in mid air "this is to slow he" thought to him self as the wigs folded back into his pack and music started playing "Back off i'll take you on , Headstrong to take on any one"
he took off in flash catching up with the disc like thing taping it as he passed. the disc change corse and follow him fireing at it went
"lets see u do this discy" he yelll back as he he headed for one of the Canyon walls

Messo made sure Mark was securly on his back. "Ok, here...... we........" he jumped over the cliff. "GO!!!!" He dived and soared along the canyon. Mark was weighing him down, but only a little bit.
He barely knew this boy, but he finally had someone to share the joy of flying with.
Increasing speed, he came to the Sentinnles. He remembered as a hatchling, his mother had lectured him again and again "you must not fly past the sentinnles, EVER"!
He had no choice. He took a breath and flew over them just as Rex started playing the music. "What are those sounds pulsing from him?" he flew closer. "You! Raptor! What is that? That's the most angry and bizzare music i've ever heard!"
Messo did not realise the disc was right behind him. It fired again and barely missed. Messo screamed and flew upward. "Mark HANG ON!" he flew an upsidedown loop, turning himself around and heading right for the disc. It fired at him again and he shifted to the left. It was at a hundred feet and closing.
"Any ideas?" he called to Mark.

a beam of energy shot over the Skybax and his new rider hitting the disc like thing "good that over with"
then he get zapped from behind "what the" he said as he turns around to a whole wall of the disc thing "great, now i'm mad, who wants some" he yelled as energy started surgeing from his body
"not lets go" he yell out as he charged them

Messo continued for the disc. He was so startled when the raptor fired his own energy beam that he nearly dropped Mark.
As the disc crashed, he circled around and saw a whole fleet of them. "Zounds! Look at all of those! We're in over our head..........hold on!"
As the sea of discs attacked and fired shock-pulses, Meso weaved in and out of the discs and the energy blasts they released.
As the utah raptor charged towards the fleet, the discs began to attept to ram him. One nailed him in the back and sent him plummeting!
"Whoa!" Messo took too much time to observe Rex's attack. A disc came out of nowhere and rammed him. "Aaahh!" he screeched and crashed onto a ledge nearby. He took care to land on his belly so Mark would not be injured. His right wing was broken. "Owwww! Mark.........you ok?

Arithia and Blazetail watched the scene before them helplessly. Arithia yearned for some way she could help, but just then, Blazetail leaped between a crag in the canyon and multiple disc-machines. Arithia screamed as a few of the discs began firing at her and her partner. Blazetail dodged each shot, weaving gracefully in and out of their fire range. The Afrovenator stopped suddenly, causing the discs to slow and turn around. "What are these things?" Arithia asked no one in particular
Blazetail bound into a canyon, sprung against a wall, and landed in a shallow cavern, breathing heavily. Arithia patted her friend's neck, "No wonder I asked you to be my partner, Blaze" she said wearily.
