Ooooo.... Journey to Chandara thread...

I will say that I am really looking forward to this book, as I am minorly obsessed with different desert cultures, which seem to feature prominently in the book. I can't wait to see more of the unexplored (by Arthur Denison, that is) East side of Dinotopia! I've certainly fantasized as to what it would by like (as evidenced by my character Asim), and I can't wait to see Gurney's version.

What kinds of cultures do you except we'll see influences of? Certainly different Arab civilizations. I saw some rather Babylonian style architechture, and something that looks quite a bit like it could belong in a more Oriental setting, such as Taiwan or somewhere similar. Any ideas?

It says on the official site that it's similar to the journeys of Marco Polo, so I expect a lot of good old desert-dwellers to keep me satisfied for a long time.

I still havn't got even the first book...LOL...I've only watch the channel four series, and read half a page of 'Lost City' and read the full 'River Quest.' Five times. I still read that, although I'm too old for it now, lol.
