Hello All;
There are some points which changed between the two original works of Mr. Gurney. I have noted some and shall point them out below, with page references. You may have noticed others. Please tell us of them and give the necessary references.

[ALAFT pg. 43 ~ Crabb Quote: "You've had your last grog . . ."]
I took this to mean any alchoholic beverage, not a specific sort or type. Then in TWB there was the Black Fish Tavern[pg. 34], where one could have "rum" and various local "ales"[pg. 37].
[ALAFT pgs. 62-3 ~ Illustration: Waterfall City]
The original was undetailed and made the city look larger. In TWB[pgs. 26-7], it appears to have been scaled down somewhat for the detailed overview of the buildings and such.
[ALAFT pgs. 21, 26-7 ~ Illustrations: Egg Hatchery]
I got the impression -- quite foolishly -- that the Egg Hatchery of north-west quarter was the only one for all of Dinotopia. It now makes sense to me that it merely serves Waterfall City and likely Volcaneum, as the latter seems like a better place for a hatchery, but there is no mention of such. I saw the light when I read that Bonabba of TWB has its own hatchery. Most towns probably have their own small hatchery, or one in the larger towns serves the smaller ones around itself.
[ALAFT pgs 150-1 ~ Text, Dialogue: The Submersible Vessel]
According to a map in TWB[pg. 45] Sauropolis is just up the Polongo River from the Black Fish tavern. Yet in ALAFT, "an official of the city"(Sauropolis) does not know of such craft as used by the treasure hunters of Dinotopia. In TWB, the use of submersibles by treasure hunters seems to be common, perhaps even reaching back for many years. In fact, a certain "Mug Dog" refers to the Remora as "the best bucket in the fleet"[pg. 38], indicating perhaps that there are quite a few other submersibles, or that there are many steam powered surface craft made of metal.
