Can we use cannon/book/movie characters like Karl and David? And can we play them as a secondary character or is that not allowed? I can't find anywhere where it says we can't, but I wanted to know still. If we can, I'm looking for someone who is willing to play David Scott for my character, she has a crush on him, a big crush. See my character post on washed up for her info etc. if anyof this is awnsered in a yes Then my next post in this thread will be to further the cercumstances.

Hi Arianna,
In the single thread RPs, I'd say it's ok.
Though, what I'd do is start a new single thread RP and in the first post, give a description of this RP and say that you need people to sign up as Karl, David, and whoever else.
I'd also let them use their other characters too.
You know what? I should add something about this to the rules.

Be very careful guys. Harllmark/Disney or Whomever gets wind of it and get you for copyright infringement. That is they had to change Zippo to Zippeau. The Zippo Lighter Co. filed agreements against Harllmark/Disney because of the name Zippo is copyrighted property. They had to change it. I don't want to see another great forum get shutdown because of this.

Oh!...  Then I should cut out my 'Empire of the carnivores' fanfic on the ToP.  (That one uses many of the characters from the series and movie sometimes...)  |

Actually you can use names, characters etc just you cant claim them as yours a way to show your not trying to is add a disclaimer saying who owns them and state that you are in NO WAY making money off the usage. then in all legality they cant do anything.  But be careful anyway, you might wanna copyright your original characters too so no one can take them. I do it. |

Dinotopia.com/faq.html here the author himself says its ok, and even encourages us to use them, if you go to the link its near the bottom fear not we'll never be shut down by him.

Believe me... role-playing canon characters is absolutley fine. Just don't go further than roleplaying or fanfics. Seriously, I'm on a roleply site where canon characters are allowed... of every Disney movie imaginable.
