It came to my attention that there aren't enough areas for role-playing in Dinotopia. What's missing? How about: -The Forbidden Mountains? -The Great Desert? -Outer Island? -Volcaneum? -The seas of Dinotopia? These are just suggestions, but I know that those places can't exactly be explored in the current subboards under rp. I, for one, would like to see those places added there, and I would definitely want to role-play in them. What do you think?

That would be great if you added some more locations to rp at. Here's another question though. What if we wanted an rp story that takes place in more than one location? You know, characters move and travel to different locations. Suppose half the story took place in one area on Dinotopia and the other half took place somewhere else? How would you know which category to put the story in? Should we have a category all in it's own for those kind of rp stories?

Rosa has a point, of course.
Perhaps Dakota does not expect any RP to get along far enough so that this becomes an issue.
To my mind, you select the RP Forum region where you choose to set the opening scene of your RP. After that, wherever the RP goes is not really a concern.
To keep an RP within a single region, perhaps they would have to be like short stories?

But I might not want all my stories to be short... ;D I think some stories deserve to be long. If ya'll havn't figured it out already, I like long stories. But yes, I see what you mean, Skyler. I guess you could just pick a location where the story begins to take place and just let it go from there. Stories have a way of shifting and changing, as you already know. I guess if after some time and the story doesn't fit the category anymore it could be moved to a different place.
ps. I'm enjoying reading "Marc's Awakening" and the story that takes place in Treetown.

how about when the location of a story changes, a new topic (or chapter) is started in the relevant forum, continuing from where the story left off elsewhere. That way, people who only want to be involved in stories set in just one place have the stories brought to them, instead of them having to search the other area forums for their chosen place...

That sounds like a great idea, Marc! We might shift our characters around to follow a story, but there are some characters which may not be inclined to travel. Therefore, it would be nice if we can even keep certain of our characters in only one Forum. Or two if the location is nearby.
