Gurrah quietly came to his nest of eggs and sniffed them. All was well. His mate was out hunting. she had been gone for quite some time, but Gurrah was not worried yet.
He was a Giganotosaurus, large and powerful. His strength was so famous that there were even one or two stories the human caravans had started. He cared little about them though.
As he sniffed his nest, something was wrong. He froze when he noticed that an egg was missing. He frantically sniffed the nest and the general area, finding the scent of human. He roared loudly in an attempt to get his mate's attention, but she did not respond. Becoming anxious, he made sure the nest was secure, and then caught the trail of the scent and stormed through the jungle at full rage.

It had seemed like a simple thing. His friends had dared him to still an egg from a Giganotosaurus' nest.
After hours of waiting for the male Giganotosaurus to leave, he finally got his chance. Carefully leaving his hiding place, the boy crawled over to the nest of eggs. Their were plenty to choose from.
I'll pick the coolest looking one, then my friends will really be jealous. He thought to himself. Carefully, he removed a speckled egg from the nest and tucked it inside his shirt.
Moving quietly away from the nest, the boy walked slowly away until he was out of earshot before running full speed back to where his friends were waiting for him - a small settlement on the edge of the Rainy Basin. The town was called Redwick.
The plan was for him to meet back up with his buddies, then get the egg back to its nest before the Giganotosauruses noticed it was gone.
However, any hope of returning the egg unnoticed was soon lost as the boy began to hear a far-off noise, like an after-shock of an earthquake. Soon the noise grew much louder as the boy finally realized that he had been discovered. Running full speed, the boy desperately tried to distance himself form the "earthquake."

Gurrah roared again. He was very close to the theif, but the dense foliage was making it hard to track him. He stopped for a breif moment and smelled the air. Instead of catching a scent, he heard some small creature about a hundred feet away rustle-up the bushes. He roared again and charged, seeing that the theif was a human boy.
He closed in on the sprinting child, quickly overtaking him. Gurrah stepped right over the boy and whipped around, bringing himself eye-to-eye with the theif. He growled in satisfaction and backed the boy into a tree, effectively cornering him.

It was like a horrible dream, a nightmare. The Giganotosaurus was breathing down the boy's neck, literally. He could hardly believe what had happened. The Giganotosaurus had appeared so quickly, the boy, Jagem, had been caught by surprise.
Now the furious dinosaur was standing right in front of Jagem and had his teeth bared, ready to attack.
With nowhere to run or hide, Jagem feared he had reached the end of his rope.
Then an idea popped into his head. If he could distract the creature long enough, perhaps he could escape to safety. Escaping by foot had proved futile, so perhaps Jagem could climb into the tree behind him and make his way from tree to tree.
The plan sounded good enough and he didn't really have time to come up with a plan B.
Removing the egg from his shirt pocket, Jagem gently sat the egg onto the ground before trying to calm the male Giganotosaurus with his voice.
"It'll be okay, there's your egg, so now you should be happy. Don't worry about anything it's safe now."
Jagem scurried up the tree's low branches without wasting anymore time.
Whatever happened, Jagem was determined not to look back down.

Gurrah stood there, body poised, jaws ready to uneash their power on the boy........
But Gurrah was puzzled as the boy lowered the egg onto the ground. He had hunted down attempted-theifs before, but none of them never appologized and tried to return the egg.
As the boy scrambled up the tree, Gurrah lowered himself and very gently picked the egg up. He started to turn and leave, but then realized that the boy might come back, or one of his daredevil companions perhaps.
He had to prevent that.
He quickly ran back to the nest and returned the egg. After securing it again, he ran back to the place where he had cournered the boy.
He was gone.
In a frustrated mood, he scanned the nearby trees. He wasn't planning on eating him since he was nice enough to give the egg back, but he had to make it clear that he could not come back in this jungle.
Gurrah stared at the trees for a moment or so. When he saw the boy struggling to get to the next branch in a tree nearby, he roared and charged toward the tree. He lowered his head and rammed the tree, shaking it madly and almost knocking the boy out of it.

Jagem was beginning to wonder if his plan had been so good after all.
It had seemed to work at first. The dinosaur had picked up the egg and left, but then it came back. This was when the problem began.
The dinosaur had rammed the tree he had been climbing and had nearly knocked him completely out of it. Fortunately at the last second he had managed to pull himself back up into the branches and remain in the tree.
The dinosaur below looked as furious as ever. I gave you your egg back, what more do you want? Jagem thought to himself.
Whatever it was, Jagem didn't want to be around to find out. As quickly as he could, he continued his current progression from treetop to treetop.

Gurrah was pleased to see the boy scramble away more quickly this time. His plan was working, but he had to be more straight forward. He had hoped that the boy would be knocked from the tree and although hopefully not badly injured, he would know never to return.
Desperate to really get the boy's attention, he charged between two trees. The boy dangled in the branches above.
Perfect.
Gurrah roared again and then leaped into the air, snapping at the boy, though purpously missing him.
But this was a flawed idea. As he crashed back to the gound, the forest floor proved too weak. The overgrown foliage crached and snapped. The entire jungle in a ten yard radius shook. the trees swayed like mad.
Gurrah fell straight down into a pit deeper than he was tall.
Startled, Gurra fell to the bottom and became intangled in the vines and debris below. He cried out in frustration and struggled, but found himself stuck.
He was trapped.

Jagem couldn't believe what he just saw. The dinosaur had jumped up to attack, though it had missed. However, instead of staying on the ground the huge dinosaur continued downwards until it became trapped in a hole just large enough to hold him.
At first Jagem was tempted to just leave, after all, the dinosaur had tried to kill him. But then he heard voices. Far away at first, but growing louder by the second.
Pushing his way further into foliage of the tree he was in, he waited to see who would emerge.
Two boys appeared out of the undergrowth. They were about Jagem's age and as soon as he saw them, he knew exactly who they were: the two friends that he had been trying to impress.
The one on the right named Luke spoke, "Wait until Jagem sees what we caught. His egg will look like nothing compared to what we got. He'll be so envious."
The other one, Garet, spoke, "I told you the trap would work and it worked quicker than I thought it would."
The two boys walked over to the side of the hole the dinosaur had created. They peered over the side and saw the cramped dinosaur. Their eyes widened in fear and amazement. They had caught a dinosaur!
Jagem was silently mad that they'd gone even further than he had, but he wasn't about to reveal himself. He would wait to see what the dinosaur would try to do.

ooc: I hope you don't mind me jumping in like this, but I just couldn't resist!
Blazetail tapped her webbed foot on the ground, her smaller arms crossed over her chest as the boys above her bragged about their catch. She was embarrassed that she had not seen the trap in the first place, but that had soon given way to frustration when her captors showed no sign of releasing her. So, she waited, and waited, and hoped that Arithia would come and rescue her soon.

ooc: ok then, going back to fermire's last post..................
Gurrah groaned and kicked at a log that was pinning his foot down. He picked his head up and saw several small figures at the rim of the pit.
More human children! Gurrah was outraged. He had a strong suspicion that they were behind this. Perhaps that first boy had led him to htis trap in the first place.............
He had to get out of the pit and eliminate all threats to himself and his nest, no matter what sizes they came in.
Gurrah grunted and groaned as he struggled to his feet. He kicked the log again and sent it flying out of the pit. Vines snapped and debris flew all over the pit as he rose to his feet.
Almost eye level to the children, he roared, bent down and leapt out of the pit, clear over the childrens' heads and landed on the ground. The entire jungle seemed to shake as he landed.
He then turned around and faced the wide-eyed kids. Bearing his teeth, he roared and snapped his jaws at them as they fell over.

Fermire had to do something. Now what exactly that was, he hadn't the slightest clue. The giant dinosaur hovered over the two boys as time seemed to stand still.
Suddenly, Fermire realized the only thing he could do to save the other boys' lives; risk his own life.
Scrambling down the tree, Fermire realized that time was of the essence. At any moment the giant creature could lunge forward and kill both of the boys laying it front of it.
Picking up several rocks from the forest floor, Fermire stuffed them into his pockets before climbing back into the tree.
The dinosaur was still contemplating what to do when Fermire got all the way into the tree. Concentrating on the task that lay before him, Fermire readied himself for his possible death sentence. With all his might, Fermire threw one of the rocks straight toward the dinosaur. His aim was true and the rock hit squarely on the giant dinosaur's head.
Now all that Fermire could do was wait and hope.

Gurrah eyed the two boys, ready to eliminate them once and for all.............
A great thwack killed his concentration. He snarled and stepped backwards, trying to claw at his head.
He caught a glimpse of that first boy in the trees. He was armed with rocks and stood ready to throw another.
Gurrah was loosing his patience. He decided that eating the boy would be too good for him. Dicipline would do the trick. Harmless dicipline, but something to set his mind straight none the less.
He roared and charged to the tree, ignoring the other two boys down below. He came eye to eye with that boy in the tree and snapped his jaws. He caught the boy by the arm. Taking great care not to injure him, he pulled the boy from his perch, turned and started for the nest. He had been away from it for far too long and his mate should have returned ages ago.
Hopefully she would understand why he left.
Gurrah also hoped that he would be able to protect the boy from his mate, at least until he made him understand that human boys should not walk into the Basin, steal eggs, trap theropods in pits or pelt them with rocks.

Fermire hung helplessly as he was carried away from the tree he had been in and away from the other two boys. He couldn't try to wiggle his way out of the huge dinosaur's grasp. The dinosaur's razor sharp teeth would rip his arm to shreds.
His arm became numb as it continued to remain restrained within the dinosaur's mouth. whatever the reason was, the dinosaur hadn't decided to eat him yet. Maybe he's taking me back to his nest to feed to his babies when they hatch, Fermire thought to himself in horror.
His free hand couldn't reach any of the other rocks he had in his pocket because the rock were in the pocket opposite of his free hand.
Fermire's situation truly was hopeless, but it became even more hopeless as a new shape appeared in front of his view, hovering right in front of him, Fermire stared into the eyes of the dinosaur's mate.

At last! His mate, Arral had returned to the nest. Gurrah was pleased to see her, but she did not seem happy.
What, praytell, have you been doing? she growled. The eggs have been unattended and you have a human boy. EXPLAIN YOURSELF! She roared and stepped forward.
Nervous, Gurrah gently lowered the boy until he was five feet off the ground and dropped him. To make sure he would not escape, he pinned him with his foot, taking care not to squash him.
This boy stole an egg. I retrieved it and encountered......complications. I decided that this boy needs dicipline instead of becoming my snack. Gurrah growled.
You're mad. Arral snarled. But, if you wish, we shall keep him for a while. She turned and laid down by the nest.
Gurrah bent down and growled at the boy. Stay here. Move and Arral shall eat you!. The boy however appeared frightened (as expected) and probably didn't understand a word he was saying. Just do as i direct. In an attepmt, he lifted his free foot and in a thunderous effort, stamped out "Stay here. Mate eat you you no listen. leave here one day if i say so. Ya?" in the footprint alphabet.

Fermire was too frightened to move. He wasn't about to risk moving, but he couldn't stand the thought of waiting there. He began to think maybe the dinosaur's really were going to feed him to their babies when they hatched.
Looking into the dense forest he spied two pairs of eyes staring back at him. It was Luke and Garet. Fermire tried to motion them away, but they wouldn't leave. He closed his eyes and hoped they'd go away, otherwise, one of the dinosaur's would likely smell them sooner or later.

The boy wasn't paying attention to his footprint message. He growled to get his attention, but something had caught the boy's eye. He looked in that direction and saw movement. The slight smell of human lingered in the air..........
His friends had returned. He quickly roared to get Arrals attention. Arral woke up and sniffed the air. Knowing the naute of the sintuation, she got up and charged to the bush where the tow boys were hiding. Gurrah lifted his foot off the boy, but picked him up by the arm again and placed him high up in a tree where he would most likley be unable to climb down (at least, that's how the tree appeared from Gurrah's side of it). He then turned around and snarled, charging after his mate.

Fermire realized the situation he was in again. Either he escaped and let the fate of the two boys be determined by themselves, or he had to do something to distract the dinosaurs again.
The dinosaur had thought that Fermire wasn't capable of climbing out of the tree. However, on the other side of the tree, several limbs protruded out of the tree. Scrambling down the tree, Fermire formulated his plans as he went. Running toward the dinosaur's nest, Fermire grabbed one of the eggs again.
He couldn't afford to be weighted down with more than one egg. Tucking the egg carefully into his shirt, Fermire ran through the forest in the direction of the hole the dinosaur had fell into.
The other two boys' only hope was that the dinosaurs would catch the scent of the egg leaving its nest and give pursuit.
Fermire raced toward the pit, he had to reach it before the dinosaurs reached him.
