Pinaceae Abies: (Fir tree)

Refers to a group of over fifty species of evergreen conifers, closely related to Cedar. Species include: Balsam Fir, Siberian Fir, Korean Fir, Giant Fir, Sicilian Fir, and many more varieties. Some of these species are found all over Dinotopia, and are used in enhancing flower gardens; but are found mostly in wild areas of the Backbone Mountains, the Northern Plains, the Rainy Basin and grow exceptionally large in the region near Treetown.
