Pinales Pinaceae: (Pine trees)

A coniferous, or cone bearing tree. Refers to a genus of 115 different species and from 105 to 125 subspecies. Pine trees grow in nearly every corner of the world: the Northern hemisphere, Eurasia, Canary Islands, Scotland, Russian Far East, Philippines, Africa, Canada, Nicaragua, North America, Mexico, the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. Many strains of pine predominate nearly every region of Dinotopia; like the Backbone Mountains, the Northern Plains, the Rainy Basin and grows to gigantic proportions in the environs of Treetown.
