The Oak tree belongs to a family of several hundred different varieties of hardwood trees, as well as many scrubbing plants. Many species grow in the Northern hemisphere, and includes many deciduous and evergreen varieties. Most oaks produce nuts or seeds, and are considered highly nutritious to both human and dinosaur. Oaks grow well in every area of Dinotopia; and are partial to the backbone Mountains, the Rainy Basin, the Northern Plains and grow to massive proportions in the vicinity of Treetown.
