Yellow walls, strongly dulled with a white cream color over it was the elegant walls. It was nice when it was behind small plants and vases. Not to mention a rather fancy assortment of fruits and vegetables in a large bowl. Many scrolls were in twin honey comb scroll cases with a third being filled with a journal, a suit, and a picture of the two of them, drawn and colored with a blend of paints.
Walking towards the first bookshelf, containing books such as the beginners guide to footprint language, and the care and treating of humans. He had picked up the care and treating of humans and proceded to walk towards the back of his home. There was a splended view of the waterfalls, as well as part of the rainy basin. It was in a sense the most peaceful spot he could be in. And with a book in his hands, all he needed was a way to get fruit to be cut up and placed on his tongue to make this more enjoyable. But it cannot be done alone as some juice from the fruit would be unbearable to have on one of the first books he had read.
Hryssar, with the light on him in the open was roughly a light forest green, with a slashed green tinted tan in small diamond shapes along his neck to the end of his tail. His mouth seemed to go with his thoughts. "I remember first picking up this book. A few years before he had meet his partner. It did wonders. As well as explaining some major differences. they had much weaker legs, and were so small. Almost flimsy based on the illistrations. But they had determination to match any carnivore to save others in couragous ways. As well as that they had a strong set of emotions to drive them and their technelogical advances that some brought. Like their own books. As well as trying to describe how a saurian was able to comprehend them. then when they had to work on attemting to get past being bashed on the head with a stick out of fear.
But for now he simply held the book near his heart and gave a silent prayer for his soul. As he turned around, tail thumping. Then the light scraping sound before it gave way. As he slowly walked into his home once again, finished with his daily ritual. More than often, he would do this, and place the book back into his bookshelf.
"I beleive I may go for a walk. give my legs a good stretch." Slow and lazy steps forced a stop as he had to open the door, as well as close it. He had no fear for someone stealing his belongings. Sure comming home with someone in your home is a fright, but at least you find them in a home atmosphere. And he wasn;t that wealthy either. But most of them were his parents when they were alive. However he would say that he was an orphan and how he managed to get his home was a mystery.

When In doubt...
A few days of traveling had passed without many major events, as the convoy slowly made their way to Waterfall city.
The Sun was rising on a beautiful summer morning sky as the camp slowly woke and began to pack their belongings.
All the while a young parasaurolophus remained sleeping near the now remnants of last nights camp fire.... a soft hand shook it to wakefulness...
"Asrial.... Asrail, it's time to wake up" the soft cooing voice of Tarion rang in her ears..... slowly Asrial stirred to waking and found herself to actually be the last one to wake... with a warm gentle smile she nuzzled Tarion and rose to her feet then gathered her belongings which Tarion then took and put on the cart. In the meantime Asrial had gone to a more secluded area to change her garments and dawned some rather extravegant and rather expensive looking, yet some how casual for her, outfitting, the theme was a teal aqua blue, with a sandy golden cream trim, and intricate saurian designs on the faberic which was completely silk and felt almost liquid to the touch, her developing saurian figure filled the outfit fully and the colors complmented her body tones, all in all she looked simply... stunning. the outfit itself was rather revealing in a way because alot of her skin was showing, true enough nothing to private or personal was showing, but the outfit did seem to give her something of an exoctic princess look. She walked back out to rejoin the others and was met by some rather shocked looking stares, mostly from the male side of the group and even more ammusing to her was the fact that even the humans were staring at her. Tarion advanced over to her slowly and then embraced her. "Geeze Asrial... " was all he could mannage while hugging her... Asrial seemed slightly confused and raised a saurian eyebrow to him, "What is it Tarion?" she asked completely confused.
Tarion grinned and nuzzled her, "It seems like every time you change clothes you get into something more beautiful than the last, I actually feel underdressed standing next to you" which was something of a honest truth concidering that Tarion had only dawned his new black leather gauntlets with gold trim and ruby stones in the wrists, as well as dark violet straps that had gone along the middle of the gauntlets, this color trend continued down his body with a Black midriff sleeveless silk shirt trimmed in gold and with violet designs on it, a black waist belt that contained one front and two back flaps, both were black, trimmed in gold and with violet tribal designs on them, and lastly was his Leggings which were also black and trimmed in gold, with violet designs and rubies at the front of the foot, All in all he seemed to be rather elequently dressed himself, but compared to Asrial he seemed a slightly lesser status. If Asrial was the princess, then he was definatly the knight.
Asrial smiled and nuzzled Tarion back hugging him, "I don't know hon, your outfit is pretty heroic looking" she said before turning to the others, after hearing Sir Bentfeather cough...
Tarion nodded and boarded the Cart along with Asrial.... and together everyone set out for Waterfall city.
Not many other events had transpired for most of the day until about the mid point of their travels that day in which, seemingly from nowhere Sir Bentfeather dropped down onto Asrial's Lap and addressed her.
Before he started talking he asked Tarion if he could have a private word with Asrial, Tarion reluctantly agreed but then moved off the cart and joined Redcrest on the other cart as the two played a variety of games with each other and Hazen Baker.
Asrial turned her full attention to the microraptor and smiled showing that she was listening.
The conversation started off simple enough, with a greeting, a few questions about what she planned on doing next, and simple back ground infromation, all of which Asrial provided answers for with ease, but then Sir Bentfeather's tact changed completely and he began questioning her over Tairon, using questions such as, "How long have you and Tarion known each other?, Has he always been so tenacious about archeology? Do you know if he went to any actual dig sites? Have you read his research at all? What do you think of his idea about there being a Mother sunstone?"
Asrial tired to answer each question as best as she could, a few of which involved her thinking a little harder than she would have liked.
Ultimatly Sir Bentfeather seemed sastisfied or at least content with the answers he got, most of which seemed to confirm something.... he glided off with a strange look on his face but quickly mannaged to regain composure.
Asrail on the other hand had remained where she was and was now looking down at the various other belongings in the cart, her mind was swimming with questions, (what was with the sudden inquiry about Tarion?) was the first and formost question on her mind, this was followed by (will he be leaveing again? and If so... Could he take me with him?) she became lost in her thoughts and an eventual day dream about Tarion and herself exploring a ruin out in the wilderness, before she knew it she was being lightly shaken to reality again, and there in front of her face was Tarion smiling at her, his face suggested something exciting was either happening or about to happen.
Asrial looked at him confused until he said, "Asrial... we're almost home" as he pointed off into the distance, the sound of a loud roaring crash of sorts, she looked in the direction Taion was pointing and found herself staring at the majestic Waterfall City off in the distance, with a smile she sighed and hugged Tarion close, the plan seemed to be for them to camp outside of town for the night and then arrive in the morning, both Sir Bentfeather and Sir Mondor agreed that given the circumstances they would probably be given a parade of sorts for their exalted arrival, and while a few of those in the group would have liked to go in at night time and surprise their families the next morning, the majority thought it would be fun to arrive to a parade, Redcrest seemed the most excited about the thought and was almost too eager to sleep. Tarion and Asrial on the other hand had simply cuddled together and held each other close as they thought about how good it was to finally be home, and with the rest of their families.

IC: Hazen Baker and company, Conversations On The Road _
With each step, the party felt increasing amounts of relief and happiness in their hearts. While nearly everyone was excited to be returning to their homes, others (namely Tebo) would be returning to their families. For Polongo and Artemis, they were fortunate to have their entire family present. It certainly troubled the two Lambeosaurs that their only daughter had to suffer through journey that was nearing its ultimate conclusion, for she was still only a hatchling, but it was tempered with the fact that they saw their daughter grow, not only in size but in mind. During a time when Artemis and April were relieved of their duty in escorting Peter Triceratops, Artemis approached her mate, diligently hitched to the supply wagon where their daughter, her Partner, and the young Tarion played. April effortlessly took a seat next to Seamus MacEwan to partake in some of provisions before their next meal.
Artemis spoke, "My dearest love," she began. "I feel ashamed that duties prevented me from spending time with you. Goodness knows that we certainly deserve time to get ourselves reacquainted after my training in Sauropolis."
Polongo glanced at his mate and his mouth curled into a Saurian smile. "Do not worry," he said, "We all have our duties to perform in the service of the whole of Dinotopia. Being able to spend the past several months with you and our daughter together made it all worthwhile."
Artemis sighed, shaking her head. "It is more than that," she elaborated. "It is the little things I missed. Sharing our nestbox with you, for example. And I mean our nestbox. Although the hospitality we have been afforded is most welcome, there isn't anything like one's home. I missed the smells of tea blends that you were inventing. I missed hearing the roar of the falls in the distance."
Polongo stretched an arm out and patted her side. "I miss those things as well," he said. Artemis glanced at Polongo and carefully nuzzled him so as not to interfere with the harness of the wagon. "I love you, too," Polongo replied to the gesture.
In the back of the cart, the games had concluded and Redcrest gave a yawn, signaling that now would be a good time for her to take a nap. Redcrest protested as Tarion left to give her room to stretch out. "We can play more when you wake up, okay?" Hazen promised her as he got a blanket to cover her with.
"Okay," she murmured sleepily back, "but I want a song."
Hazen smiled as he reached for his guitar case and withdrew his instrument. He tuned his guitar but in an unorthodox manner so that it would play a chord when no strings were fretted. The atmospheric, modal tones he played easily and quickly soothed the young hadrosaur to sleep. Even though he knew the child was asleep, he continued to play, more for himself than anyone in particular. Still, this unfamiliar tune caught the ears of April Manchester.
She climbed next to Hazen, who glanced up at her. "Don't stop playing," she said as she listened to the melody and the droning of the instrument. "I've never heard anything like this," she said. "It's so full, yet you make it seem effortless."
Hazen smiled. "Thank you," he said. "Open tunings like this seem a bit strange at first, but they can be very beautiful."
"Does this song have words?" April asked.
"Yes," Hazen replied. He tried his best to remember them, and mumbled through the parts he didn't know. April couldn't help but smile when he did that. Still, the tune was beautiful and she thought the lyrics were equally so.
(OOC: To get an idea of the song he played, go to
He stopped playing and April give soft, polite applause. "That was lovely," she commented.
Hazen put the instrument away and sat cross-legged next to her. "Thank you," he said. "I hadn't played that in years. Thank you for giving me a reason to."
April smiled and looked down, slightly bashful still. When she regained her composure, she asked, "Hazen, at what point did you know that you wanted to court me?"
Hazen smiled, thinking about what caused him to initially take a fancy to her. "It's kind of hard to say," Hazen said. "I was pretty gobsmacked when I first saw you," he joked. April gave a polite chuckle, remembering how his initial expectations of her had been challenged when they met. "I know it's not exactly what you want to hear, but your beauty was the first step in my wanting to see if a relationship was possible. It was also how much you cared for Artemis and her family."
"So you did have some lust," April said, with a hint of being slighted in her voice.
"To me, appearances alone aren't what we call a 'deal-breaker' back home. I was just wondering if there was someone I might like under that exterior. I'm glad there is," he said, smiling. "What about you?" he then asked after giving her time to digest it. "When did you think that something with me could work out?"
April looked back at Hazen and said, "That night we made camp and you first loaned me the use of your cloak. I couldn't remember a male ever being so courteous as you were then, so I thought it was just some sort of ploy on your part. Even after that row we had, you offered it to me again. I guess right then, deep down, I knew that you weren't like the others."
Hazen smiled and briefly kissed April on the lips. "I appreciate hearing that," he said to her.
"I appreciated hearing your side as well," she said back. Hazen put an arm around April and leaned against her. He closed his eyes, both out of his love for her and as he felt the beginnings of a nap coming along. Evidently, April had similar thoughts as well as she softly yawned. _

With his tail pointing at his home, he padded off towards the library. There was a few scrolls that he had to read, as they contained information on the rainy basin. He was trying to figure out in a sense where not to go. and trying to explain that he was looking for various herbs and plants.
Shaking his head as he talked lightly to himself. "The things to risk in order for good tea, hebs, and a bit of adventure. Can only hope for the best in the scrolls. Otherwise I am in for a chase. And then who knows, may find a shortcut back into waterfall city." a light chuckle resounded from his neck, primarily at how horrible trying to explain himself would be.
Walking along the soft ground, he noticed the arrival of several . Ones that he could have sworn he had seen several times, only not paying much attention to personally. But he figured that taking an account of those who have come from outside of tree town. Perhaps they would be heading through the rainy basin soon. Or even off to canyon city. Fine tea sat in well with some sweet nectar in it, and a book in a position to be read.
Hryssar diverted his beeline path to the group of strangers, deep breaths to try and muster up enough courage to ask any of them. Especially for all he knew they could be weary travelers who want nothing more than to go in, rest their feet and then leave. But the least he could do is ask.
At a quick walking pace, he gradually caught up to them. His voice comming out gently, and worried. "Breathe deep travelers. I am Hryssar Kulazak. You wouldn't happen to be comming from the rainy basin would you? I was planning on going out for plants and herbs, and am wondering if you know of any safe areas? Perhaps even to. Well... talk over tea and enjoy some hospitality?" they may be able to help me with some research that I am looking for. Perhaps I can find some new fruits and vegetables? Would be delicious to put into my home. As well of some things I may be able to learn that is happening outside of tree town as well."

IC: Bentfeather and company. Home is in sight, and no way to hide from fame!
The going was tedious and the roads rolled on under their feet, and the towns they passed through or stayed the night at all seemed the same; but eventually the road turned south, and the Polongo river flowed to their right. All the large saurians took turns pulling their contrivances, all except those in charge of security for the group; and even their high ranking saurian took a small turn at the Rickshaw between Widdershins and Raptor Flats, Mondor stating that was all his old body could endure! Blissfully for both Bentfeather and Mondor, Tarion kept relatively silent for nearly the whole trip from Treetown; and not so much as a word about the Mother Sunstone came from his lips as he participated in tasks around their many campsites, or joined in simple activities between certain members of their band.
Woefully at least for Bentfeather, Hazen also stood nearly silent, only willing to interact with pretty April or his Partner Redcrest; and with the others only out of necessity. Young Tebo had got back into practice with the sword, practicing his flourishes with officer Ajax as his duties allowed; and Bentfeather noticed the growing acquaintances between his original band and Mondor’s assistants, but for some reason lady Natasha and Frak had become sullen and aloof - staying together as often as camp duties allowed. The only thing that Bentfeather could not explain was the lack of people greeting them as they neared Waterfall City, for certainly the city would have been notified by now; and certainly they would send a greeting party to meet them as they neared, but so far all the people they encountered paid them little mind save for waiting for them to pass. Bentfeather sighed, forever drowning in anonymity; as the final turn in the road brought the faint churning rumbles that was a sure sign that waterfalls were not too far off; and pretty soon he would see the shining spires of his home town, the crown jewel of Dinotopia, Waterfall City!
“Getting excited, friend?”, Postal Bird 76 asked his Microraptor friend beside him, pulling Bentfeather out of his musings. “I can’t wait to get back home!…”, 76 ruffled his feathers.
“Yes, that would be wonderful…”, Bentfeather replied without much enthusiasm. “I can’t wait to get back to the library… Or what’s left of it given who I had left in charge of it.”
“Jake’s a capable librarian, more so than you know who…”, 76 secretly pointed at Tebo. “Um, pardon my asking; but why him for curator?…”
“I like the boy… He shows great potential…”, Bentfeather turned incredulous. “Besides, he’s a lot better than the ones you left in charge of the main Post Office!”
“872 is a great messenger!”, 76 squawked. “So what if she’s my cousin?…”
“Boys!…”, Whitenose beside them announced. “Why do you argue?… It’s disturbing me.”, she turned up her beak. “If you wish to continue, I’ll find another place to perch!…”
“Sorry…”, both said in unison, then shook on it.
Mondor hung back to walk beside his son, and though Olu hovered not too far off; this accompaniment was well used to by Peter, but still gave Mondor the willies! He had seen noble things in his son during the trip to waterfall City, and even though he was less learned than his father; Peter had actually been in the temple on the Outer Island, and Mondor was searching for any insight on it.
“Son, I need your opinion…”, he began.
“Me, father?”, Peter turned. “What about?”
“Certainly you have been in the temple at the outer island.”, Mondor began. “Can you conjecture what it was originally designed for?”
Peter looked uncertain. “Well, the place was really large… It had many chambers, and seemed to be able to house many hundreds…”, Peter paused. “What will that serve to tell of it’s purpose?”
“Perhaps it’s original purpose was not it’s ultimate purpose.”, Mondor told him. “Please go on.”
“There were passages that went deep underground, some of the Dromeosaurs told me that before they would swat me!…”, Peter chuckled awkwardly before continuing. “Um, there was a water treatment plant, and upper atriums that might have held soil… Perhaps to grow food…”, Peter winced at a stinging fly‘s bite near the eye. “It was built directly into the cone of a dormant volcano, and maybe it was powered by geothermal forces… Like I said, it was really huge!”
“If it is as large as you say, it could have been an extension of the World beneath.”, Mondor surmised. “We need to consult another to confirm this hypothesis…”, he called Tarion over to tell him their conclusions.
In the mean time, and while they waited for his reply; Randy in the lead of the caravan looked up in the sky, and directed to Angee to look as well. Several Skybax wheeled in the air ahead, circling in a search pattern known only to themselves; and almost all persons below that saw their flight simply wrote it off as a routine aerial patrol, and gave it little other thought. But for those in Bentfeather’s group, who were waiting for such an event; this activity didn’t escape their notice. As the first in the sky spotted them; it drew the others closer; and as the caravan traveled over a rise in the road, they all saw the tip of the Prime Sunstone tower in the center of the still unseen city just as the first Skybax made it’s landing in a clearing by the road in front of them.
The pilot dismounted, and it was none other that Elaina Dennison! “Hail travelers!…”, she called. “Be you the group led by sir Bentfeather?…”
“We are they!…”, Bentfeather squawked as he flapped to her waiting arm. “It has been a long journey, but at last we are almost home!”
“You have been expected.”, Elaina told him, none of their group knew how she made it there ahead of them. “The whole city prepares for your arrival, and my squadron will escort you the rest of the way from the air.”
“We have been going a long way.”, said Bentfeather. “Surely you would not begrudge us a rest first.”
“The mayor has instructed me to retrieve you and bring you back with all due haste.”, Elaina smiled. “And the people of Waterfall City can not wait to give you a king’s greeting!”
“And all we wanted was a quiet return…”, Bentfeather dejectedly flew back to tell the others… _
