I'll leave it to someone Who has the writing skills and knows what they are doing. I'm not much a good writer. My grammar and spelling suck bad. If it wasn't for the spell check on these boards, I would be a lost.

Whoa! "Articles"? That sounds stiff and rigid, not very interactive. Oh, well, maybe a "Wiki" can be revamped . . .

I'm sure I could come up with more, but I quit for now. Someone else suggest some. I will explain as you need. However, I don't care to debate about what is a "good" idea and what is "bad". I cast my vote for trying everything and weeding out what is unpopular and what just plain doesn't work.

Hyping your ideas and concepts is up to us individually, though if you get what someone else is saying and like it, feel free to tell that person so they don't feel like they are talking Dolphinback English to hatchlings that don't even read ClawScript yet!

And if this Wiki is going to take off, it would be good if we could get support from ToP. A joint Wiki would be nice, especially if the "Duty Roster" is to have any volunteers.

P.S. And by-the-by, Marc, I can't seem to do anything at the Wiki Scratchpad you gave the link to. I suppose this has to do with the "12 days" you mentioned. Just as well; we can discuss development and plan things out some before construction begins.

Well the whole point of a wiki is that everyone is the duty roster...anyone in the group can edit and correct (or create) any topic they like in the Wiki. Apart from that, you're obviously thinking on the same lines as me. Artists wanted! Street-maps and portraits of characters wanted, amongst a helluva lot of other conceptual art.
Obviously it will be up to everyone to post their own character profiles, and the character portraits can be added to them. The same goes for City/village profiles and street maps.

Character profiles should contain links to all the RP threads and stories they appear in.

Would somebody make a ToP topic on this? Danke.

it would appear there is already a Dinotopian Wiki (http://Dinotopia.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page) which i suggest we commandeer. Begin creating your articles!
All you have to do is type the article title into the search box on the left. The wiki will then either come up with an already existing topic, or give you the option to create the topic you typed in. It's fairly straight forward from there, i think, but contact me if you have problems.

And what if a member doesn't want to be in the wiki? Can

I would imagine so. Maybe we should have a big list of all the characters, so that people know who's there, but not everyone needs a profile. Does that make sense?

Also, about comandeering the Dinotopia wiki... Ours would be centered around not only Gurney's Dinotopia, but the bits that we've created for our rp. It would be misleading to someone who thinks that they're reading things about the actual series, if they were really reading about the histories of the characters in rps.

well i'm still waiting for the email on ours...but permission could be denied if they think there's already a wiki on Dinotopia. We'll see. If it is: nobody has looked at this particular wiki for months except me. The owner had created about three articles and lost interest. Nobody but us will be looking at it, and all we need to do is put 'unofficial' somewhere in the title. I've already made the categories specifically for RP and FanFic, so nobody will be looking there for official Gurney stuff. And anyone who thought it was official would soon find out otherwise, no harm done.

So you want to make a Wiki for Dinotopian RP only?different from the official one?
That would be best. I don't want our profiles and other things that are only found here
on the official wiki. It could turn ugly Unless it is absolutely impossible to make one for us.
