I just got this via SCI-FI Channel newsletter today. For those that haven't seen it yet or those of you Who like to see it again, now is your chance if you have the SCI-FI Channel. I'm getting my DVD recorder ready for this one.
Dinotopia Six-hour miniseries Sunday April 22 at 5/4C
Two boys crash-land on a remote island where people live in harmony with dinosaurs. It's the discovery of a lifetime, if only they can find a way home!

I love the 6-hour movie! I own it, but it's damaged and i'll need a new one soon.
There are some things that make me mad about it though.........like Oriana being the only original character and appearing for the first five minutes. And the whole forbidden to go the World-Beneath thing, Waterfall City being the capital instead of Sauropolis, the list goes on and on...............

I think Water Fall city should be the cap only cuz its where all new comers go i dont see any new comers going to Sauropolis

Yes, Waterfall City is the center of learning (and an awsome place all together), but it states in the book that Sauropolis is the capital, not Waterfall City.

That's Hallmark Entertainment for ya. They can't do anything right.
I wasn't to fond of it as well. I'm going to re watch it and get a good laugh out of it. Even if it has all those screw ups in it.

I never saw the T.V. series, but i heard that it was pretty bad................It sounded like it's plot wasn't going anywhere and that it was discrasing the book worse than the mini series!

yeah, the TV series had no plot except for the last few episodes. Those episodes never aired since he show was cancelled. They were about a wizard and magic though. :/ The Mega series was better but could have been better.
I'm surprised that Oriana was in the movie at all. The books take place in the 1800s. The Movie / Mega series and the tv series take place in modern times (2002) In the movie she was over 100 years old! It's neat to see that Will was mentioned too.
When you think about it either Waldo or his (ex?)wife is Arthur's Grandchild and Will's half nephew / niece. This would make Will's daughter ( The girl at the skybax academy) and Waldo's daughter (I can never remember her name) cousins.
So they were both there, but they didn't know they were related. And she was jealous of Will's daughter.
I wish the movie had been more around the Dennisons and their relatives.

The TV was where I first heard about it. It's about two boys, Karl (Still fancy him ) and David, who land on the island after a storm. Does anyone have this on there PCs that they could send me? I only have a dusty video, and no video player, lol.

The TV series or the 3 part movie? I have both on DVD. Unfortunately, I also have dialup. So if I could figure out how, I'm not sure that I could

You mean the movies themselves? If your talking about having the mp4 of them. No I don't download stuff anymore since my ISP outlawed mp3/mp4 downloads. Mp3s are music files and mp4s are video files

As to Waterfall City now being the capitol vs. Sauropolis... Maybe a hundred years ago Sauropolis was the capitol; but political changes over the years made Waterfall City the capitol. People and places might fall out of favor over the years; and if you look at the map, both cities are on opposite sides of the island. Maybe it was decided that human politics were more importand than saurian, and moved the government to where humans were more prevailant...
(Just a thought...)
